Poème pour le Mississippi et le Delta blues

Mississippi

I walk in the Delta blues moove this time

Want to go back to Mississippi

Going down from the brown river

In the cities where time is fixed

        I feel like going home.

        Come on

baby don't you want to go

        We'll pass through the streets

        Which their scaled houses

        Their mosquito nets on windows

        And squeaky doors.

On the road where the sundown

        is made of fluorescent colors

        when the rain will come

For maybe this time, take all away :

Floating houses, poor people more and more destitute

        By the country.

I went through the Robert's trail

Find a stone behind the big old oak

But didn't see the dogs of hell

I went through the Robert's trail

        At the crossroads in nowhere.

        I went back to France

But scare I have no home

        'Til the time still proceed

        There's no future in Clarksdale

        nothing but the past lively.
